Compassionate Care Ministry

Mission Statement

"To reach those who are hurting, to embrace them, love them, and let them know, that it is the Lord Jesus Christ, who can and will fill every hurt. To help them to understand that the Sovereign Lord is our strength. He is the one that makes our feet like that of a deer and He enables us to go to new heights."

Isaiah 61:1-2; Habakkuk 3:18-19

From the death of a loved one, to personal issues that you may be dealing with, as we go through everyday life.We are here to pray with you, console you and guide you to other resources, that will be able to assist you in your time of need.

Questions you may have while going through a Grieving Process....

Q:     Why grieve? What is its Purpose?

A:      The grief response expresses basically three things:
  1. Through grief you express your feelings about your loss and you invite others to walk with you.
  2. Through grief you express your protest at the loss as well as your desire to change what happened and have it not to be true. This is a normal response.
  3. Through grief you express the effects you have experienced from the devastating impact of the loss. You may experience God in a new way that will change your life. Job said, "My ears had heard of you before. But now my eyes have seen you." (Job 42:5 NCV)
Q:     Does grief have faces?

 A:     Yes, it does.

  1. It can appear as the face of your world falling apart. In grief the bottom falls out of your world, the solid footing you had yesterday is gone. The stability of yesterday's emotions have given way to feelings that are raw and fragile. you may think that you are losing your mind, yet Isaiah 53:3 says, "A man of sorrow and familiar with suffering."
  2. Mourning is the second part of the experience.
Q:    Why do we mourn?

A:     This is the process where grief is expressed. It is a natural God-given process of recovery. It's His gift to us to help us get through the pain.

Q:     Does everyone mourn?

A:     No, everyone has grief, but mourning is a choice.

These are just some of the answers to the questions that you may have as you go through your grieving process. Jesus knows how you feel because he  experienced this wide range of human emotions himself.
  • He wept with Mary and Martha when their brother (and his friend) Lazarus died (John 11:35).
  • He was angry when the Pharisees led people away from God (Matthew 23:1-36).
  • His tender heart compelled him to touch and heal people and to forgive their sins (Matthew 9:1-8).
God isn't shocked or confused by the emotions surrounding grief and loss. When bereaved people bring their emotions to God, he can comfort and heal their hurting hearts.

Scriptures of Comfort in Time of Grief
